Our Role

In most cases, Connect1 acts as a data processor on behalf of the fleet or organization using the platform (the “Customer”). The Customer acts as the data controller and determines how and why data is used.

In limited cases, Phillips Connect Technologies may process certain data as an independent controller, such as for system security, platform integrity, support, and legal compliance.

Data We Process on Behalf of Customers

Depending on how Connect1 is configured, we may process:

  • User information (e.g., name, email, user ID)
  • Asset and vehicle data (e.g., location, status, diagnostics)
  • Device and sensor data (e.g., telemetry, cameras)
  • Photos, videos, and documents uploaded to the platform
  • Activity and usage data within the application

How We Use Data

We process personal data primarily to:

  • Provide and operate Connect1 features (e.g., tracking, alerts, reporting)
  • Maintain system performance, security, and reliability
  • Improve product functionality and troubleshoot issues

All processing is performed in accordance with our Customers’ instructions and applicable agreements.

Data Control and Requests

If you are a driver or user of a fleet using Connect1, your organization controls your data.

For access, correction, or deletion requests, please contact your fleet or employer directly. Phillips Connect Technologies processes such requests only in accordance with Customer instructions.

Data Sharing

We may share data with trusted third-party service providers (sub-processors) as necessary to operate the platform, or when required by law. We do not sell personal data.

Cookies

Connect1 uses only strictly essential cookies necessary for the platform to function. These include session management and authentication cookies that allow you to log in, navigate the application, and maintain a secure session. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies within the Connect1 platform.

SMS & Mobile Communications

Phillips Connect offers optional SMS notifications through the Connect1 platform for transactional alerts such as critical asset status updates and operational notifications. Users must explicitly opt in to receive SMS messages by enabling the SMS toggle in their My Account settings.

Phone numbers collected for SMS notifications are used solely to deliver platform alerts and are not sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Message frequency varies based on account activity and alert configuration. Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier.

Users may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by disabling SMS in their account settings. For help, reply HELP to any message or contact us at support@phillipsconnect.com.

For full details on opt-in instructions, consent language, and program information, visit our SMS Notifications & Consent page.

Data Retention

Data is retained according to Customer configuration and applicable agreements with the Customer.

Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect data against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
