Phillips Connect Announces Strategic Realignment and Key Promotions

Phillips Connect, a leading provider of innovative technology solutions for Smart-Trailer applications, is excited to unveil a series of strategic changes that will propel the company into a new era of growth and innovation.

Transformation to Telematics Solutions:

By partnering with some of the most advanced fleets in the nation, we have gained unique, impactful data-driven insights that are set to transform the industry. Phillips Connect is positioned to lead the charge in serving the evolving needs of customers and providing holistic solutions that redefine the tractor and trailer telematics experience.

As part of this transformation, the company will focus its marketing efforts and business development strategies on showcasing the comprehensive range of telematics solutions we provide and the power of our Connect1 user interface.

Restructuring for Success:

Cliff Creech and Jessica Smith have played pivotal roles in Phillips Connect’s success.

Effective immediately, Cliff Creech has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Phillips Connect, and Jessica Smith has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Connect1.

Phillips Connect will now be organized into two distinct groups:

  • Phillips Connect: Led by Cliff Creech, this team is responsible for ensuring that Phillips Connect’s range of telematics solutions remains the most reliable and comprehensive option for commercial transportation fleets. This group includes Engineering and Operations teams, and is responsible for all aspects of hardware development, manufacturing, and support, along with firmware development and the efficient delivery of data to Connect1.
  • Connect1: Reporting to Jessica Smith, the Connect1 team is responsible for presenting data to customers, enhancing the capabilities of the Connect1 user interface, and collaborating with strategic partners to integrate telematics data for both tractors and trailers. Smith’s team is committed to providing top-tier customer service through their dedication to building authentic relationships with fleets, tailoring solutions to individual needs, and leveraging their extensive product knowledge to provide accurate, actionable, and meaningful solutions to customers through alerts and insights.

Creech and Smith’s Comments:

Creech says, “Innovation is at the heart of what we do, and we are excited to continue to expand the range of telematics solutions we can offer to customers as we work together to address their business needs. A great example of this is our introduction of ‘listening mode’ on our gateways. Listening mode allows our customers to communicate with the telematics products on their trailers on demand. This coupled with our cargo cameras and edge-computing AI models allows us to take high quality interior images and provide highly accurate floor space utilization and volumetric utilization quickly and efficiently. When you combine those great hardware capabilities with the easy-to-use automations in Connect1, you see the true power of our telematics solutions.”

Smith says, “I believe that we are set to reshape the transportation industry. We are leveraging hardware as a conduit for data. As we gain more granular insights, we are able to pinpoint and enrich actionable, predictive, and prescriptive ways to manage operations, increase efficiencies, and make the roads safer for everyone. We have a century of industry knowledge. That combined with our sophisticated data models means substantial ROI for our customers. Our focus on utilization, health and controlling the asset remotely helps fleets better manage and leverage their current assets. These solutions translate into real dollars allowing them to make greater investments in their operations and expand margins.”

Founder and CEO’s Perspective:

Rob Phillips, the Founder and CEO of Phillips Connect, says, “We are extremely dedicated to listening to our customers, and developing solutions that meet their unique needs. Cliff and Jessica have played key roles on our journey to providing safer, more efficient, and innovative transportation solutions. Cliff’s team excels in nurturing fleet relationships and harnessing invaluable data, while Jess possesses exceptional expertise in data analysis, and delivers it to our customers in meaningful, actionable ways. Our ultimate goal is to provide solutions that enhance road safety and positively impact a fleet’s financial performance. Cliff and Jess stand as two of the industry’s most talented and driven leaders, and I am deeply appreciative of their vision and dedication to this team.”
